10 Things I've Learned Living In Enoch

10.) Everyone is related. Somehow, one way or another, it is all one enormous family tree!

9.) Secrets do not exist in small towns. I know everything about everyone, and they know everything about me.

8.) It would be perfectly normal to have a few goats or a couple chickens living in your back yard.

7.) Polygamists really do exist. If you don't believe me go to St. George Costco any day of the week. (they buy in bulk)

6.) Burn Day starts on April 15th!

5.) Mac make-up is only available online! WHAT!?!

4.) You would say that you were going "into town" if you go to the store. For example someone might say; "I'm going 'into town' do you need me to get you anything?" Then I would respond "No thanks, I will just get it when I go 'into town' for the 100th time today."

3.) Another Enoch-ism would be "going up North" If you travel anywhere North of Nephi then it would be considered "going up North" Here is an example of how that phrase would be used in a sentence; "I'm going to 'go up North' to buy some Mac makeup, because I cannot wait that long for UPS.

2.) There is a really good pizza place that has a cinnamon roll dessert named a "Cow Patty" not to be confused with the "Cow Pie" which is basically normal bread sticks shaped like...well.. a cow pie.

1.) You can make best friends anywhere you live. I have a lot of good friends here, and I love them all! I hope everyone knows that I am teasing, and I enjoy poking fun at the town I now live in.

You think Enoch is a small town, I need to take you to my home town. The place where you really can't date anyone because they're probably your cousin. The place where your parents know what you did at the basketball game before you ever get home. The place where no stop lights exist and you rarely even stop at the stop sign because you know where the person from the other way is going. And, last, but not least, it's not uncommon to have a small animal farm in your backyard there either. Anyway, there's a reason I don't live there anymore!

Tony and Jen, This blog thing has reached new hieghts when even the people of enoch find out about it. This is Steve Albright. I found your blog by looking at trever's. Sounds like you guys have been busy. I was sorry to hear about your loss last week. My wife miscarried as well. We found out how common it really is. People just dont talk about it much. Two months later we were prego again and now our little girl is two months old. Tony, call me sometime and you guys can come stay with us in Las Vegas. PS> does your company offer insurance?

I'm glad you are loving life in Enoch (minus the Mac cosmetics problem). But we do still miss you here!

This is perfect. I am going to link it to my blog if you don't mind. Maybe you can come up with some more when we go walking again. I love the MAC makeup comments. That too has been a difficult thing for me (and buying Philosophy). Tina, I loved your comment.

I'm with Tina on this one. The sad thing is that Enoch is huge compared to where I grew up (a small town of 250). We knew everyting about everybody. I could list from house to house the people who lived in each one. Thank goodness, I didn't have any relatives there, except my Grandma and Grandpa. Great fun!

Jen,
I linked the Scentsy on my blog. It's on the right column the last thing on the list. Enjoy!

It's good to know that you can find happiness here. I was worried today when I saw a U-haul in front of your house- you have to give it at least 2 years before you leave. And just think- "up north" is 4 hours away from sunny St. George and we are only 55 minutes! Why don't you open your own mac makeup store on the corner? (ha, ha) I'm glad you are here

You know, I'm from the city and it was a little bit of an adjustment to live in Cedar/Enoch. Sometimes I feel like I'm still adjusting. And believe it or not, although this little town doesn't have all the stores or eateries, I wouldn't move back. I love the slow paced atmosphere. It seams "up north" is just a big hustle and bustle. Plus, thank goodness you can have a small farm in your backyard because my girls love the neighbors chickens and ducks. And, if they have the farm, that means that I don't have to!

"so have you given any thought to a chicken coup?" Hilarious! Your photo skillz are maddening! You know, you could probably make millions by reproducing the burn day smell and selling it to Nordstrom by naming it Burning Desire, or at least do a trade for MAC makeup.

Hey Jen! It's Tauni. This is the funniest thing I've ever read. I can totally relate, except we have cows, rabbits, and prairie dogs in our backyard! Your house is beautiful! My hubby is a contractor too! Aren't they so hot in their little tool belts???
I was sad to hear about your loss, you are such a good example of strength. I loved reading what you wrote.
