Building a house drives me crazy! Not only do you have a million decisions to make, but you have to deal with sub-contractors. This is the latest; I stressed over cabinets. I went through magazine after magazine. Then I found them. The most perfect cabinets. I loved them! We got bids from 3 different cabinet places, and we decided to go through a place that said they could make these exact cabinets. I ripped out the picture of the cabinets and gave it to both partners at the cabinet shop. Tony and I have sat down with them several times to make sure that they are right. Well we got a call saying that they are finally ready to be installed and we needed to go finalize the color. Hooray!! We get up there and they are not even close to what I wanted!!! So tony sais "These aren't even close to what we wanted" The cabinet guy freaks out?!? As if it is our fault that they are wrong! So I either get the ones that I wanted from day one and wait another three weeks for cabinets. Or have these installed tomorrow! It just drives me crazy that I stress for months about what to get for my house and then I don't even get what I asked for! Okay I'm done.
Oh, and does it honestly take three months to put up stucco? NO!

house
Here is a more updated picture of our house. When the rock people are done putting the rock on all of the pop outs then the stucco people will come and put on the color of stucco that I decide on. I am just going through sample after sample of colors that it makes my head spin!!
Here is the view from my family room to my front door. The side panels will have glass windows as opposed to plywood! We are so close to being finished that I can taste it, and yet I go over there and it feels like we will never get done!

New Years '08
We had such a fun night. For Christmas my parents got us all nights stay at the Zermatt Resort in Midway. We loved it. Tony was in charge of the sparkling cider and I just had to stay awake until midnight!!
I was very blessed in 2007, and grateful for all that I learned. I am excited for the new year and welcome the experiences that I will have in 2008!!
House
Our house after we poured the foundation, and on the right my "hot" general contractor!!
Here is our house towards the end of May '07, in Enoch Utah. We moved here so that Tony could start a construction company. He has been very busy building our house and also a 10 bedroom cabin for his grandma in Parowan canyon. The weather was incredibly hot, and Tony would come home everyday covered in dirt! That is the sign of a hard worker! And come on look how cute he looks with his tool belt on!!
Merry Christmas '07
I hope all of you had a Merry Christmas! We all had a wonderful day! The girls were so excited and got everything that they wanted (Maddie wanted an Arial lamp and to learn Spanish, Sophie wanted stuffed animals!) We loved talking to Josh on the phone. It was fun to hear from him, he sounds so good. I love Christmas and I already miss the excitement leading up to the big day!!!
